The
American Veterinary Medical Association's Poison Guide
The
Prevention of Plant Poisonings in Livestock & Pets
Program
This program has been established by faculty of the
Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine
(VMRCVM) at Virginia Tech to assist veterinarians, extension
agents, producer groups, and other advisory groups in
educating the public at large about those plants that
are most likely to cause losses among their animals.
This program, with the collaboration of the Veterinary
Medical Library, gathers in one convenient source, critical
and relevant information on plant poisonings. It delivers
the information to the lay public in a user-friendly,
readily understood format. To help users make the most
of this resource, materials are made available on this
CD-ROM. Thus, anyone who has a computer with a CD-ROM
drive will be able to access the information. The CDs
are distributed to all County Extension Offices in Virginia
and Maryland. Veterinary hospitals and clinics, other
agencies and members of the public can purchase this
CD for a nominal fee.
