The Montgomery County Humane Society (MCHS) in Rockville, Maryland, is a non-profit animal welfare organization with an urgent mission to protect the unwanted, abandoned, and abused animals of Montgomery County. We provide for approximately 10,000 animals annually and almost half million since our founding in 1958. As the only full service shelter in Montgomery Count, we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we never turn away an animal. We provide services to over 850,000 citizens of Montgomery County, pet owners and non-pet owners alike. Our adoption rate is one of the highest in the United States. 
 
Our Mission: The purpose of the Montgomery County Humane Society is to perform Humane Education, provide shelter, prevent pain and cruelty, and to place all animals in appropriate environments, with a goal of zero euthanasia.

Directions: MCHS is located at 14645 Rothgeb Drive, Rockville, MD 
--From I-270: Take Exit 6 East (W. Montgomery Ave.) - Turn left onto Norbeck Road - Turn left onto East Gude Drive - Turn right at Rothgeb Drive, the 2nd stoplight.
--From Route 355/Rockville Pike: Turn east onto Gude Drive - Turn left at Rothgeb Drive, the 5th light.
Bear left at the fork along Rothgeb Drive, and our shelter is on the right.

From I-270: Take Exit 6 East (W. Montgomery Ave.) - Turn left onto Norbeck Road - Turn left onto Baltimore Road - At stop sign go straight across Stonestreet and left into parking lot.
 
From the Humane Society: Go South on Rothgeb Drive toward E. Gude Drive - Turn left on E. Gude Drive - Turn right on Norbeck Road (28W) - Turn right on Baltimore Road - At stop sign go straight across Stonestreet and left into parking lot.

From I-270: Take Exit 6 East (W. Montgomery Ave.) - Turn left onto Norbeck Road - Turn left onto East Gude Drive -Go straight through 2 stoplights and turn right into the first shopping center after Rothgeb Drive. 
 
From the Humane Society: Go South on Rothgeb Drive toward E. Gude Drive - Turn right on E. Gude Drive - Turn right into the first shopping center.
